RETURN to Harry
Designed by architect Harry Glück, Alterlaa is a striking example of 1970s–80s utopian social housing. The artist Céline Struger uses this setting to reconnect visitors with their personal notions of home – interweaving memories, imagined pasts, and lingering emotional echoes. Her accompanying lecture, RETURN to HARRY – home is where it hurts, delves into the romanticization of aging utopias, the phenomenon of ›haunted spaces‹, and the lingering presence of the childhood home. The tour will highlight Alterlaa’s hidden landmarks through an eerie lens and culminates in an on-site screening of short films by Social Design students, offering fresh perspectives on this unique Viennese landscape.
